Code of Conduct

It's great to have you on board!

Get ready for a hackathon full of ideas, collaboration, and innovation. To keep things safe, inclusive, and respectful for everyone, we enforce a strict Code of Conduct. Harassment or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated—this applies to all participants, projects, sponsors, and organizers.

Please take a moment to review the guidelines below.

Anti-Harassment Policy

We do not tolerate harassment or discrimination in any form.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity/expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or political views.
  • Displaying sexual images in public spaces.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
  • Harassing photography or audio/video recording without consent.
  • Sustained disruption of talks, workshops, or other presentations.
  • Inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention.

Photography & Privacy

Photography is encouraged, but participants must be given a reasonable opportunity to opt out. If someone asks you not to photograph or film them, please comply immediately. Taking photographs in areas where people expect privacy (such as restrooms or designated resting/relaxation areas) is strictly prohibited.

Projects & Demos

Because this is a hackathon, please note that all hacks, demos, and presentations created during the event are equally subject to this anti-harassment policy.

Sponsors & Partners

Sponsors and partners are held to the same standards. Specifically, sponsors must not use sexualized imagery, activities, or promotional material. Booth staff, volunteers, and representatives must not use sexualized clothing or costumes, or otherwise foster an exclusionary environment.

Enforcement

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the organizers may take any action deemed appropriate, including:

  • Issuing a formal warning.
  • Immediate expulsion from the hackathon with no refund.
  • Reporting the behavior to local law enforcement.

These rules apply across all hackathon venues, workshops, and associated social gatherings.
